CVAP Counselling
If you or an immediate family member have been a victim or witness to violence, including physical and sexual abuse, you may be eligible for financial assistance to cover partial or full cost of counselling through Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP). It provides financial benefits to help offset financial losses and assist in recovery.
CVAP Application Information:
Victim’s Service workers are available to offer assistance in applying for CVAP funding and to answer any questions you may have. Even if you’re not sure if you have been a victim of crime, you can call VictimLinkBC at 1-800-563-0808 for assistance.
Application forms are also available from victim service programs or through the Crime Victim Assistance Program.
In most cases, the application must be received within one year from the date the crime took place. You do not have to wait for charges to be laid or for the offender to be conviction before

CVAP counselling is a government-funded therapy service for victims of crime, designed to help them recover emotionally and mentally after experiencing or witnessing violence.

Yes, you can choose a therapist who is registered with CVAP. Many counsellors in Vancouver and Coquitlam are approved to provide these services.
